The Asian Persuasian

A burger can be made in various different ways. Like this time I added a lot of asian influence in this burger. I hope you will like it!


– 2 fresh baked buns out of the oven
– 300 gram ground beef
– 2 tablespoon of tomato sauce with chunks
– 1/2 tablespoon of soy sauce
– 5 chestnut mushrooms
– 1 teaspoon of finely chopped ginger
– 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
– 8 slices of lotus root
– 2 big lettuce leafs
– Salt and pepper
– 2 slices of cheese


  1. Bake your buns to perfection. Let them rest on a towel.
  2. Get a large bowl and mic the ground beef with salt and pepper. Let them rest a side.
  3. Heat up a little sauce pan and add the tomato sauce, soy sauce, ginger and brown sugar. Cook it on low fire till the brown sugar is dissolved. Let it cool down.
  4. Cut the mushroom and the lotus root in thin slices. Pan sear both till golden brown.
  5. Heat up a pan with olive oil and put the burgers in. Cook them at least 3 minutes each side on medium fire.
  6. Add a slice of cheese and cook for another 2 minutes on low fire.
  7. Time to built your burger.
  8. Put first a spread of teriyaki tomato sauce on your bun. Then the slices of mushroom, followed by lettuce. Add on top the burger and as finishing touch the lotus roots.
  9. Done!
